Springhill sits on Farm Road 709 in southwest Navarro County, with Farm Road 667 and other county roads providing local connections around Navarro Mills Lake. Corsicana, about twenty miles to the east, is the nearest city of any size and links the area to Interstate 45, the major corridor between Dallas and Houston. Dallas and Fort Worth are reachable by way of Corsicana and I-45, while Waco lies to the southwest. Because Springhill itself is rural and unincorporated, residents rely on personal vehicles for nearly all trips, and the community has no transit service of its own; the nearest airports are the regional facilities serving Corsicana and the larger Dallas–Fort Worth hubs beyond.

Navarro Mills Lake is the centerpiece of recreation in the Springhill area. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers operates four public boat ramp access areas and five campgrounds around the lake, including Oak Park on the northeastern shore and Liberty Hill Park on the southern shore. The lake holds a Texas state-record white crappie and is widely regarded as excellent for white crappie and catfish, with shoreline fishing, a fishing pier, and a marina offering bait, supplies, and boat rentals. Campers can choose from a mix of electric and primitive sites, and day-use areas provide picnic shelters, bathrooms, and boat ramps. The surrounding Prairies and Lakes landscape also supports hunting, hiking, and general outdoor recreation in the broader region.
